The Chairman, EBE Eng. Prof. A. N. Gitau met with the student prize winners of the Dr. Musimba’s awards from the Department of Environmental and Biosytems Engineering. The Dr. Musimba awards challenge seeks to recognize, award and mentor the most innovative projects under the economic, political and the social pillars categories from the University of Nairobi, school of engineering.

The consultative meeting was to deliberate on how to mentor other students from the department to participate in similar subsequent challenges. Also was discussed on how to improve these award winning projects to come up with final products. The chairman urged the students to submit their papers for the 24th IEK conference scheduled for May, 2017.
He later met with the EBESA officials. The meeting was to update the department on the students’ progress on their activities and share with the Chairman the semesters’ schedule of activities including;
- Tree planting
- Students career talk
- One day academic trip
- Open day &
- The fifth years Dinner.
