The chairman and other member of staff met with Assistant Professor in the Department of Agricultural and Biological Engineering at Purdue University on 3rd March, 2016.
The chairman, on his introduction made a brief presentation on the history of the department, the core thematic areas and the research projects that the department has involved in and the ongoing projects.
Prof. Ji-Qin Ni on his part made a presentations about the University of purdue particulary on the Department of Agricultural and Biological Engineering. He also made presentations on the projects he has involved in and the ongoing projects. Dr. Ni’s research interest is in methodology and technology in air quality study, bioenergy from agricultural wastes, and air and water pollution abatement, such as measurement and control for research facilities, data acquisition and control software programming, sensor development, biogas technology, pollution assessment, and mathematical modeling. His extension is in livestock and rural waste systems engineering, including state-wide animal manure management, water and air quality protection, and on-farm biological waste treatment using technologies such as anaerobic digestion, bioreactors, and best management practices for reducing environmental impacts from animal agriculture.
As parting shot the chairman requested Prof. Ji-Qin for MOU/MOA between the two departments.
