On Thursday, 4 May 2023 at 11.00am in Taifa Hall, Main Campus, the University held a Compassion Day to sensitize the University community and stakeholders on the need to support the less fortunate and vulnerable students in the University with tuition fees, basic needs such as food, shelter and other essential services in order for them to achieve their academic and career goals.
The Compassion Day was celebrated to show that UoN Cares. The members of staff, partners and alumni to came with the following items (where possible) to share with the needy students during that day:
1). Food items - milk, juice, biscuits, buns, cakes, groundnuts etc
2). Personal items - t-shirts, suits, dresses, shoes, sleepers shoes, pads etc
3). Learning devices - smart phones, laptops, iPads, tablets etc
There were three drop boxes in Taifa Hall for each category. The items donated will be shared with needy students soon after the event. Also, for those struggling to pay for their tuition fees, here is a PayBill No. 4061619 for members to donate. We appreciate for your kind donation.
